HOW THE CONNECTION HAPPENS
-
1
Your voice travels from your computer's microphone through your browser using WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) - a secure, browser-native technology.
-
3
Our GlobalTower™ Network routes your call through the most efficient path to the recipient's location, connecting to local telephony networks.
-
4
The recipient's phone rings like a normal call - they don't need any special technology to receive your call. To them, it's just a standard incoming call.

BROWSER-BASED CALLING FAQ
Everything you need to know about calling directly from your browser.
How is browser-based calling different from regular calling apps?
Browser-based calling works directly through your web browser without requiring any app installation. Traditional calling apps need to be downloaded, installed, and regularly updated on each device you use. Browser-based calling uses WebRTC technology that's already built into modern browsers, allowing you to make calls from any device with a browser and internet connection.
Is call quality as good as traditional phone calls?
Yes, and often better. DialHard's browser-based calling uses our proprietary Technology which dynamically adjusts to network conditions in real-time. This technology enhances voice clarity while reducing background noise, often resulting in superior audio quality compared to traditional cellular calls. In fact, many users report clearer conversations than they experience with their regular phone service.
How much internet bandwidth does browser calling use?
DialHard's browser-based calling is remarkably efficient with bandwidth usage. A typical voice call requires only around 100 Kbps (0.1 Mbps) of bandwidth, though we recommend at least 1 Mbps for optimal quality. For comparison, standard definition video streaming typically requires 3-5 Mbps, so our voice calls use a fraction of that. Even on spotty connections, our adaptive technology can maintain call clarity by adjusting to available bandwidth.
For best results, close other bandwidth-intensive applications (video streaming, large downloads) during important calls.
Is browser-based calling secure?
Absolutely. DialHard's browser-based calls use enterprise-grade TLS encryption to protect your communications. All voice data is encrypted end-to-end, preventing eavesdropping. Our Vault Protocol™ Security system applies the same level of protection used by financial institutions to keep your conversations private. Additionally, browser-based calling can actually be more secure than apps since it doesn't require extensive device permissions that could potentially be exploited.
What happens if I switch devices mid-call?
One of the advantages of DialHard's browser-based calling is seamless device switching. If you need to change devices during a call, simply log into your DialHard account from another device and resume the call with minimal interruption. Your call credit and history are tied to your account, not your device, making it easy to transition between your laptop, phone, or tablet as needed.
Can I use browser-based calling for emergency calls?
DialHard's browser-based calling is not intended for emergency services (911, 999, 112, etc.). For emergency calls, you should always use a traditional phone service. This limitation is common across all internet-based calling services and is due to the inability to reliably transmit location data to emergency services.
Always use a traditional phone service for emergency calls.
What if my browser asks for microphone permissions?
When you first use DialHard's browser-based calling, your browser will request permission to access your microphone. This is a standard security feature in all modern browsers and is necessary for any voice communication. You'll need to click "Allow" to enable calling functionality. DialHard only uses microphone access during active calls and never records or stores your conversations.
